Unlinking an audio file from a project

How do I unlink an audio file, whose track has been deleted, from a Logic project?

Open the Project Audio (Window menu)

Select the file (or use Edit -> select unused to select all audio that is not used in this project) and hit the delete key. This will only remove the audio from the project but not from your storage medium.

Then make sure you save your Logic project again in that state.

Perfect! All these years using Logic and I never knew about that function.
