beatz
An old one from back in the logic os9 vst days, but ported to osx: http://rumpelrausch.de.vu/ ps: featuring the 'crazy diamond' vst. yes, inspired by pink floyd.

bettygoo
SSL has released a freeware compression plug-in! Gotta weigh in on this very simple but expressive compressor. Among other things, it can add a nice amount of grit if a vocal track is a little too clean. Love it.

ninjaneer
hi all, two freebies from tritonedigital.com the most most impressive is 'phasetone' - if you're working on live drums you can vary the amount of phase reversal applied to the track - very impressive on overheads and for shifting the phase between top and bottom snare tracks if you have them - there are many tonal colours to be found before going for your eq. the second one 'colortone free' is a little subtle in its effect but is the brother of a larger plug in called 'colotone pro' (also available as a demo download) - it appears to be samples of console eq's and compressors etc. - interesting. enjoy, tony
xs4is
These are my favorite types of threads.... Over at the Apple discussion forums, I stumbled upon this thread that has tons of free stuff (some of which have already been covered). Worth a grazing.... http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=378467&tstart=0 X

anonadieu
I downloaded IZotope Vinyl and was very excited about it. But I can't register it! When the registration window pops up, I get the 3 fields (name, email, code) to enter my information into, but I can't type anything. I tried directly copying and pasting the info, but still no luck...! Really weird problem, never experienced anything quite like it. Any ideas? moshi
yes the crystal synth is really lovely indeed, I like the sounds, but eum,..I'm not sure if I'm in control of the sound... I've got tree cool plugs the MINION....good for that insyncerplanitary-filter-effect, from the makers of the crazy GURU machine. http://www.devine-machine.com/ (go to the minion section) another cool plugin is the LIVECUT for that typical aphex twin crazy stutter effect. Takes a while to know what everything does, but I like it very much whenused in a subtle way.. http://mdsp.smartelectronix.com/2005/07/livecut.php the last one is the KTGRANULATOR. I use is a lot on synths and athmospheric sounds, preferably on a seperate bus after a reverb unit. Gives this instant weird texture... http://www.smartelectronix.com/~koen/KTGranulator/ for those who are into exploring the boundries of man-machine-compatibility http://databaseaudio.co.uk/ (ps. don't forget to make some good music) cheers, moshi
moshi
I just tried the camelcrusher from camel audio, it's a nice plug in think I'm going to use it often..It's a nice simple tool for crunching up beats, a very potent triphop tool as far as I'm concerned best, moshi
