mobris
Hey logic pro community Scenario: Let's say I had 2 Mics on a guitar cab recording a guitar track, so in Logic I have 2 tracks. Now I want to balance them to get a good tone that fits in the mix. Obviously you do that with your faders to get a good sounding blend. My question: Is there any way to move those two faders with your mouse independently, e.g. by some sort of smart control mapping? Preferably something like this square in the drummer mode where you can move the yellow dot along the xy axis to get louder or quieter and at the same time simpler or more complex results? I mean, it's not something you need to survive but a feature that would allow to move to faders separately and simultaneously would come in quit handy would allow a more intuitive workflow. Every help or tip appreciated. Thanks a lot guys!
des99
Not in a straightforward manner (it can be done, but involves the environment or other routing hackery). Honestly, get some physical faders, you'll find things become much easier and quicker to dial in...
facej
Logic Remote on an iPad? You can move as many faders as you have fingers on one hand. If you have achieved a proper level balance between the 2 channels you can group the channels. Moving either fader will adjust both, maintaining the relative level between the 2 channels. David Nahmani
Indeed this can be done in the MIDI Environment by routing a Vector Fader object: See: https://support.apple.com/guide/logicpro/vector-fader-lgcp1280594c/mac Let us know if you need further help with the specific cabling. mobris
Ok thanks guys, I tried for hours now but I can't figure out how to cable the vector fader to the channels in order to move the faders independently (they always move in the same way or not at all). I guess the horizontal and vertical outputs of the vector fader have to be split into separate midi-channels but further hints or help would be appreciated. fuzzfilth
A Vector Fader's output carries four MIDI Channels of volume information, one for every corner. Check this: But be warned, learning to use this quickly and efficiently to get a good balance between mics while keeping a decent overall volume will not be easy. If you change the default definition to two different MIDI events, you'll get this: In any case, it makes much more sense to get a small controller box with 4 or 8 motor(!)faders which will let you perform this without a Harward degree. mobris
thx for your reply. plz forgive me, I'm sure there's just a small detail preventing me to succeed but still it won't work as it does in your example. check this:
