matthiasmax
Hi guys, I haven't had this ever in Logic. The timing of an EXS track (YAMAHA Grand) is horrible. It seems to always "fail" at the same position within the midi part. The notes get later and later (off the beat) the more the end of the part is reached. Just as if you play an audio loop with 98 in a 99 project. The first half of the part is fine. Other stuff in the project plays well. Any ideas!? Thanks! Jordi Torres
Thanks for updating your signature! What you're experiencing sounds very strange...what happens if you quit Logic and reopen Logic again (or disable/re-enable Core Audio)? If that doesn't fix it, try creating a new instrument track and load the Yamaha piano there and move the region(s) from the other track to this new one. J. matthiasmax
I have closed logic, restarted Macbook. I have re-played the midi line and quantized it. No solution!! I have now BIPed it to see the time shift. Then I bounced again with a EVB3 and the problem is gone ! It goes as far as that with other EXS presets it's also gone. Means my Yamaha Grand preset is "damaged"? See the 2 bounced versions, the Yamaha is delayed:
matthiasmax
Ok, I have tried this in a new project with JUST the piano and still the problem exists! Project file attached. Can anyone open the file and try it on their system? Or save the Ymaha Grand preset to a file and send it to me? Thanks! Archiv.zip
matthiasmax
Alright, did some testing and found out that the preset's samples are cut quite bad ! Check this example for A#2:
triplets
That is definitely a late sample.
matthiasmax
triplets, I changed the topic to make clear that the preset is "bad". The samples in this preset are cut very lousy. M.
