Hi

Copy the lesson files to your Desktop, or some other handy location rather than running directly from the dmg

HI everyone - in Lesson 7, when I use the Marquee tool to select part of the track to Flex Time, the Marquee selection does not snap to the grid -- how do I get it to do so? Smart snap--Snap to Grid is on but yet when I move the Marquee selection, it moves as if it is snapping to "ticks"

Choose your desired snap setting? This is detailed in Lesson 3 on page 116 in the exercice "Editing Regions in the Workspace".

I understand snap settings and have tried every type of snap (smart, beat, division, tick, etc.) and the Marquee section will not snap to any of them, I have even zoomed in - when I move the Marquee section it just smoothly flows and does not snap

What version of Logic are you using? It works as expected here in 10.4.4. Also this thread is now marked as solved, so if you need further help with this new problem, start a new thread so that if for example this is due to your Logic version, someone else with the same Logic version number can help you.

Yes start a new topic for each new question, even if they're all about my book. Thanks! Don't hesitate to start a new one for this question so that someone with 10.4.8 can double check wether or not this is a new bug in 10.4.8.

Hey David,

I downloaded a demo version of Auto Tune Pro and when I use Logic Pro X the audio cuts off...I already tried increasing my I/O buffer size, freezing tracks, changing Bit Rates, and doing sends. Almost everything I can think of to reduce my CPU. Even afterwards there is still cuts in the audio of the vocals with the plugin of Antares and when I bounce out and export there is still cutoffs in the audio when I play it on iTunes, etc.

Can you please help me out???

Thank you,

Jr

Yes but please start a new topic for this question as it's not related to the current thread you've posted in. Thanks!

Hi David! Been a minute since I've been around, but glad you're still here :D

I used your LP8 book to get me recording with LP8. Then I started the LPX (10.0) book when I eventually upgraded. I never passed lesson 7. Now I'm upgrading my mac and interface after 5 year break from recording, and I want to know if I try to work through lesson 7 will I run into a lot of changes now that we are on 10.4.5?

Thoughts?

I honestly haven't kept track of all the changes, I've updated the book for each subrelease, 10.1 then 10.2 then 10.3 then 10.4. My guesstimate would be about a 20 to 25% change?

Sure thing, you're welcome. :D

Alternatively, go through the book you own right now, and ask any questions in this forum if some of the stuff you see on your screen is different!
