Jakone
Had a call out of the bliue to resurect a project from 2004 for a client. I have all the files etc but as we know I can't open them in X or 9..and my old Macs are long gone.. Any ideas? Thanks!
Atlas007
Logic Pro 8 could probably be the solution, but just as a bridge to save the L4 project to a LP8 version, then to LPX...
Jordi Torres
I think he would need at least Logic 7 to convert a Logic 4 song file. J.
scottkrk
I convert old Logic 4 songs regularly to use in Logic X . Logic 7.2.1 is the last version that could open Logic 4 songs and save in Logic 7 format. Logic X is meant to be able to open or import content from Logic 7 songs but I have experienced multiple issues (I have submitted several bug reports but I doubt this is a high priority for the team). The good news, there is a workaround. I use Logic 9.1.8 to open the Logic 7 songs, then save in logic 9 format and finally use Logic 10.0.7 to import content from the Logic 9 song into my current LPX song template. It is a bit of a hassle but I am grateful that I can resurrect songs that I last worked on 15 years ago.
Jordi Torres
So scottkrk, maybe you could give Jakone a hand and convert the file for him/her? I would, but I don't have Logic 7. J.

scottkrk
Jordi, Happy to update a song for Jakone. Cheers, Scott Hi Scott. Any chance you could convert a logic 4 file for me too please? Many Thanks Oliver Hi Oliver, Happy to update a song for you, PM the zipped song file. BTW If your song has automation, complex stuff in the environment, or uses audio files in split SDII format it is best to convert in 7.2.1 and then open in 9.1.8 and make any changes in 9.1.8 before importing content into LPX. Do you have a copy of LP 9.1.8? Regards, Scott
able2
Hi Scott, I know it's a long shot, but do you still have Logic 7 running on an old mac. I have a Logic 4 song which is very special to me that I'd love to resurrect
