mxmaster
Is there any way to select a track in Logic X using a control surface without having the plugin window of that track automatically opening? I have the Presonus fader port and when I select/scroll through tracks, each plugin window of a track I pass opens and then updates to whatever plugin is on the next track that I scroll to. This gets annoying because I just want to get to a particular track, but can't see it because the plug in window pops open and I have to keep hitting the "V" key to close it. Any help is greatly appreciated
Eric Cardenas
Disable the link button in the plug-in window. It's probably a purple color. Clicking on it makes it grey.
mxmaster
Thanks but that doesn't solve it...each time I return to the track, the plugin window still pops up....
Orchook
i been wanting to get rid of that as well for a long time. Would love to get an answer for this.
Orchook
Eric, And after i checked what you said about unlinking the plugin, I now see that after i unlink for some reason my MCU Pro automatically link it back when i select a channel. Maybe thats the problem. Any idea of how to stop the Controller from turning on the link when i select a channel? Thanks.
Orchook
No one?
Eric Cardenas
Sounds like you are in plug-in edit mode or Channel view mode. Hit the Plug-In Assignment button or the Track button again on the MCU to exit.
Orchook
No. I am on Pan/Surround mode on the MCU.

JoeDoe503
Hi there, I don't know if any of you found the solution yet, but I just encountered this error myself. To resolve it, just go to Prefrences>Genereal>Control Surfaces, Then unclick the "Touching fader selects track" option. ...and Bam it's good to go from there. ~ Joe
mxmaster
~Joe, I did as you suggested and you are correct that when you touch the fader of the faderport, the plugin no longer pops up but........when you go to another track using the channel select buttons of the faderport your plugin window is back again GRRR! TapedTogether
Anyone ever figure this out? Just got a faderport (single fader) and the automatic plugin pop-ups are driving me nuts, they also make channel switching a laggy experience since it has to load the plugin. kscottdavis
Anyone figured this out yet? I’m also having this problem with my Faderports and Logic, creating a huge lag in workflow efficiency. Tried everything noted here, nothing. Appreciate any help!
DiscarnateEntity
I was getting this issue with the X-Touch One. I fixed it thus: Set channel strip view mode to 'single' in the Control Surface set up page. Or select the 'single' button in your mixer window. vegarduy
I was getting this issue with the X-Touch One. I fixed it thus: Set channel strip view mode to 'single' in the Control Surface set up page. Or select the 'single' button in your mixer window. This did not fix it for me. It just turned the "Prev"/"Next"-buttons into scrolling through all plugins/instrument on one channel/track without moving to the adjacent channel/track. Anyone found a fix for this?? Drives me mad...

kscottdavis
Oh my gosh, this feels like Christmas Day. It works! I'd talked to Presonus about this, I'd attempted to talk to NI...no solutions. You put both their customer service teams to shame on this one, danyg, thank you!
danyg
the worst thing... you have a system that has been working for years, you install a stupid update of an NI keyboard and suddenly you whole DAW changes behavior without any warning !!!! danyg
I see the same posts all over the place, also in duc AVID. people have the problems
vegarduy
This gave me a better feeling than when all of my kids were born. @danyg: I will frame a picture of you and put it besides them on the wall!! FYI I posted a reply in the thread you referred to, saying that in my case (Faderport v2) it was not called "NIKB01" but simply "Model". Thanks for the good work!! bluntnwuk
Does anyone know how to turn this behaviour ON for another MIDI controller? I'm using a Novation Launchcontrol to control SSL G channel on every track. It switches between plugins really easily but I'd love it so that when I scroll through tracks, the relevant plugin would open automatically

robertspectral
I'm struggling to figure this out for the MCU Pro. Enabling exclusive doesn't seem to make any difference on any of the controller assignments I've tried.
coady
You mean the plug-in window still keeps popping up on every track change?
Technobandit
Just in case anyone stumbles across this issue for Softube Console 1, there are TWO "parameter0" regions that BOTH need to be set to "exclusive" in order to disable the link mode. They are both in the Navigation tab, you just need to scroll down to find the second one. Hope this helps the next poor soul that falls into this trap!
