triplets
Can you revert back to El Capitan from a Time Machine backup? I had to because Sierra screwed up my file system.
pistol-pete-lopez
No, no time machine back up.this should be as simple as black and white.but as usual updates are well known for unwanted stress in our daily lives. I wouldn't trade the graphics on Sierra for anything though

triplets
Amazing how there's always issues with USB interfaces.
pistol-pete-lopez
Interface in quiestion is Focusrite Clarett 8 (Thunderbolt) wich I suspect is NOT the culprit.all worked fine under El capitan
pistol-pete-lopez
And I supose Downgrading to El Capitan is not a good idea since my Pro tools and LPX apps are working just fine
triplets
Oh, my bad. So used to Focusrite interfaces being USB. I guess it's their thunderbolt drivers then.

pistol-pete-lopez
Thanks John, crackling seemed to (sometimes) persist even after "workaround" after I upgraded to Sierra 10.12.3 I apreciate your response because even though I know I'm not the only one with this problem some times if feel like I am. Iaamusic
I had exactly same issue - and whilst the focusrite support team were fantastic in trying to explain the issues (new driver process and apple approval) and letting me try the beta drivers I had to move from the clarett to apogee element. the only other alternative is to go back as suggested. pistol-pete-lopez
I'm stuck with Clarett 8 as I regularly track live drums and UAD apollo seems too pricey as an alternative.
