This is kind of cool....

Having logic insert roman numeral chord notation with (upper - Major / lower - Minor cases)

I had to use a custom font to achieve this...

Install the font

in Global chords and grids select the root font below for the chords.

For the language - select Nashville Arabic (1,2,3...)

Did these recognize the chords automatically?  Would this work with more complex chords?

If you mean will using roman numeral representation work like any other chord as m7th b5 etc.. Yes as they are actual chord designators.

I'm assuming then that Logic looks at the key signature.  Could it do the same thing and instead of Roman numerals, find the root note and if the chords are in blocks? Ex; see that the chord is an Em11 etc. and place the correct chord notation?

No and logic doesn't look at the key signature - it is manually entered as a chord object.

Once entered though it will transpose automatically
