defmuse
Okay, so when I drag a Vocal Apple Loop from the Apple Loops browser into my session, it pitches the vocal loop really high up (to that chipmunk type octave). I am aware that at the bottom of the Loop Browser is the option to hear the sample in its original key. But when I drag it into my session, it's not in the original octave / pitch. It's got me dumbfounded because I thought all apple loops automatically sync to a session's BPM & key (and therefore pitch). Am sure there is a really easy solution to this, but my brain isn't working at the moment. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Solution stratquebec Posted August 22, 2017 Solution Share Posted August 22, 2017 New project. Add one audio track. Drag your loop as usual below the audio track. Same result? With any audio loop? If so, drag any wav file in the project. Does it plays normally?
defmuse
Hey Stratquebec: it worked dragging these vocal loops into a brand new session. Why is that though? Any idea why it didn't work on my already-being-worked-on session?
cleamon
Sample rate the same in both sessions?
defmuse
yeah, both are 24/48.
stratquebec
Cool! Flex activated? (see if flex mode=on in the track inspector in the upper section of the channel strip ) Transpose activated? (see if the transpose value in the region inspector is set to 0)
defmuse
No, neither of those 2 options were on or changed. Flex is off + transpose is set at 0.
defmuse
Stratquebec: I figured it out! I have to click on each track that has the vocal sample, and in the Region Inspector itself, I have to remove the tick-mark on the "Follow Tempo" button. That worked. Thank you very much for all the replies & advice / help!
stratquebec
Follow tempo, ya, for sure! Great!
BeachElephant
It’s not working for me. I drag the vocal sample, and I hear it in the key I like, but when I drag it in the arrange window it changes pitch. Why?
