extrememixing
I have Logic Pro X running on Sierra 10.12.6 It's running great but I can't figure out how to individually pan the left and right of a stereo audio file? In Pro Tools each side has a pan control. Logic seems to be more of a balance control for stereo tracks. Steve
extrememixing
Sorry... Logic 10.3.2.
Solution David Nahmani Posted September 13, 2017 Solution Share Posted September 13, 2017 Control-click the pan knob and choose Stereo Pan.
Jordi Torres
Hi, Logic seems to be more of a balance control for stereo tracks. It is a balance control by default. However, you can switch it to behave like a stereo panner (control-click the knob and choose "Stereo Pan"). However, Logic implements this differently to Pro Tools, so don't expect two pan pots to suddenly appear. You can do it the Pro Tools way (two knobs) but that requires having your stereo audio in two separate track then setting the input format of one channel strip to "Left", the other to "Right"....not worth the hassle, though. extrememixing
Thanks. I found it and you are all correct. I made it a mono track with the input control and panned it from there. But how do you split the tracks and put them on mono tracks?
Jordi Torres
Hi, You would need to duplicate the region in the tracks area and put it in a second track, then (like already mentioned) set the input format of one of the channel strips to "Left" and the other to "Right". But this is a pain, use the Stereo Panner instead. J.
extrememixing
Thanks for the help guys. Works perfectly once you get over pre conceived notions of how it "should work".
Ploki
I wish Stereo Pan could be enabled by default
CHKComposer
I wish Stereo Pan could be enabled by default +1 Please! I was just going through this, this morning. Seems weird there's no preference to have stereo tracks initiate with Stereo Pan.
extrememixing
Right clicking is not so much trouble. Steve
CHKComposer
Right clicking is not so much trouble. Sure. But a preference allowing you to choose a default would make sense. And also wouldn't be much trouble.
