bouncing vs exporting

I've been producing a lot of of projects lately with musicians all over the country ( lower 48)

Bass parts are always being delivered in stereo, vocals delivered in stereo etc. taking up

twice the hard drive space and possibly creating other issues........ such as tuning a stereo

vocal track with Melodyne.......

What is the best technique in bouncing to insure I receive a raw mono file?

to bounce or to export audio

obviously bass, drum, guitar and vocal parts are the culprits here.

Adding to triplets explanation.

The project/selection bounce is happening at the output stage. This means that the signal will be routed from its source all the way to the output, passing every bus and aux that it utilizes.

Export is using a different, non-disclosed, bus to output its signal. This means that you'll only get the signal that is on the track itself and its processing — depending on the export settings.

The preferred method for what you are trying to do is to use the export function but making sure that you disable include vol/pan automation.

Hope that helps.
