jeffloven Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 When I record a guitar solo I don't always like the take and might have to record over. While I'm recording the new track the old track is playing in the background. Why would I want this? I'm not really wanting to mute the track every time I do a solo and other DAWS simply record over your old audio without playing the old take...what gives? Is there a button I'm not seeing or a dialogue to fix this illogical situation? Thanks for any help... I do need new glasses so there's that.... triplets Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 Strange, what you're saying never ever happened to me in all the years of take folders. Do you have Auto Input Monitoring selected? jeffloven Posted October 13, 2017 Author Share Posted October 13, 2017 No input monitoring. But oddly, when I've returned to tracking tonight the offending behaviour is gone. Obviously I am doing something myself to bring this on or there is a strange bug in my setup. I will leave this question up for a bit and see if the behaviour returns. It did it again so i muted the track and then unmuted when i thought I had a great take.It wasn't right so I set up to record again and this time the behaviour disappeared again.
