sg335man Posted October 12, 2017 Share Posted October 12, 2017 Hello, I would be most grateful to hear if anybody has got a work around the lack of 2 Thunderbolt ports on many devices and audio interfaces. My MacBook Pro 2011 has one TB 1 port. My problem is I want to upgrade my audio interface? I am looking at the Apogee Element 1 TB port and daisy chaining) 2x External Drives, (recording and samples) Only one device has 2x ports? Hum Yes buy a Thunderbolt dock $200 to 300 or a new Laptop, which I am looking at. I guess I am looking for a stop gap. The Dock idea is a good one however it would have to be Thunderbolt 2 to use with my current MBP? And a waste when going to a new 2017 MBP with 4 TB 3 ports? Manufactures are not to interested in producing 2 port TB on devices and adaptors. Intel may have a say in that regarding licesening? Who knows.
