GCritchley
question for my Logic/Slate friends: using Slate's virtual mix rack on an input channel routing to a bus, and a record enabled channel with that same bus as its input. This way I can use the virtual mic, mic pre and compressor while recording vocals, like I would a hardware chain. With a hardware chain, I like to ride some peak/valley vocal levels while recording when I know an extreme is coming, and I want to use the gain of the compressor from the input chain to do so (rather than the pre, which would affect the compression that follows). Using Logic's smart controls, I can do this with the virtual comp - that is until I select the record track (or any other track) to record the vocal. when I do so, it loses it's smart controls and the plugin window closes. Is there any way to maintain smart controls as they affect the compressor gain knob while selecting other tracks?
Atlas007
Did not try it, but intuitively, perhaps a custom screenset could be your solution?
