Nellis
Hi guys, Hope you are all well. Has anyone found an easy solution to tempo sync third party packs to your song for easy auditioning?? Sucks that Logic doesn't do this. I'm at a point that i'd rather buy Kontakt from Native after watching Ben Remember's class on Faderpro. He uses it for all his auditioning and easy tuning but it's expensive! Tnx!!
Atlas007
Exporting a 3rd party audio file as Apple loop should do that. If you have packs'perhaps proceeding with a batch processing app such as those mentioned in this apple forum discussion.
Nellis
Tnx Atlas! I did what you said with Switch audio converter. Then I put the AIFF files into a new folder and try to drag that folder into the top loops section of apple loops. But it won't let me do that. Whatever I choose, keep current location or move location, you see the folder bounce back and not import. I tried reindex also, nothing. Any ideas? Atlas007
Apple Loops, are not regular audio files. They contain metadata (re tempo info, transient markers, key, tags, etc) which Switch audio converter app will not add/provide that (required) metadata to the files it converts. Then, try using this Apple Loop Utility instead. A Developper account is required, therefore you would have to create one, if you don't already have one. Once you are done with the conversion, drag the files to the Logic's Apple Loop pane and reindex the loops library.
Nellis
Downloaded the Utility, took the sample pack, selected all files, opened them with the Utility, selected them one by one to looping, then convert and it converts the pack. Renamed the new folder, dragged it into Apple Loops and......still bounced back.... Any tips? Major pain if you can only do one at a time... Tnx!! TelecasterTubes
I use this... https://www.newsonicarts.com/html/vice.php"Vice, loop sampler"
Nellis
Managed to finally get the pack into apple loops. It shows and plays but.... not in time!! Come on... I had a look at that sampler but that also doesn't auto sync your loop for auditioning. What I saw on youtube is that you have to change the BPM manually.... Any way to get it synced or is Kontakt the only way? Tnx!!
TelecasterTubes
That Sampler syncs loops automatically for auditioning....? You don't have to change anything.
Nellis
I downloaded a demo version of Vice. When my project is playing and I select loops to run in sync with my project, they run at a different tempo and start at a random point. I don't see any sync function/button. Even when I adjust the loop bpm to my projects bpm its still starts randomly. I want to be able to skip through wav loops and audition them with my track so I can then pick out bit and pieces and create my own beat. Any tips? Thank you! TelecasterTubes
You double click them, then the are instantly loaded in the sampler and in sync with Logic

TelecasterTubes
Works flawless here with random wave files…. No idea why its not working on your end. Maybe contact Vice support for a solution?
Nellis
Works like an apple loop on your end? So it Tempo syncs and follows your project? If yes then it is really weird why mine doesn’t do that

Nellis
I mailed with Vice, great support! Already had two mails back within 30min. You have to click on the Play arrow triangle right under "Copy" and also have Cycle mode enabled. Then previewing works like a charm!! Awesome man!! Tnx for the tip!! TelecasterTubes
Glad it worked out! I don’t use Vice that frequently, was a bit set and forget for me.
