Radiussound
Hi, I am trying of tigure some things out and I need some help. I have 3 questions: How can I let Logic behave to: 1: only record between the loop cycle 2: stop recording at the end of the loop cycle? 3: At often time when a loop cycle is set the first note misses (when the first note is played before start cycle) Is there a way to force the first notes to appear at the precise start of the cycle? Thanks.
volovicg
Yes you can use auto punch...... One way...... Turn auto punch on Drag you cycle range down to the auto punch lane.... record..... (should address items #1 and #2) Are you recording Midi or Audio ?
David Nahmani
Another way to Autopunch, without using the Cycle area, is to select the desired section on a track (wether regions are present or not) with the Marquee tool, then press record. Radiussound
Thank you David and Volovicg, The marquee tool and the punch in are very handy features. I am still missing the first played midi notes at times when recording in cycle. I hope it is possible to force them to position themselves on the start cycle. David Nahmani
I hope it is possible to force them to position themselves on the start cycle. You'd have to quantize the entire region. For example by clicking the background (making sure no regions are selected) and in the "MIDI Thru" Region inspector, choosing the desired quantize setting.
