Can't enter a note length longer than 999 bars?

Hi all - I'm scratching my head here. I can't draw in a note length longer than 999 bars in my Piano Roll, and I don't know why...?

I'm writing a 1 hr piece and need to have long single drone notes. In Logic 9 I could simply click and drag the note duration to whatever length I wanted...?

My song length is set to 2,049 bars, so it's not too short. Advanced Tools are switched on, for what its worth. I have tried dragging the note length in Piano Roll and also writing it manually in the Event List, but even the list snaps the value back to a max of 999 bars every time.

Is there an option I need to disable somewhere (eg max note length)? I can't find anything like that.

Thank you,

If you know how long your piece is going to be in minutes, then you could use a tempo to time calculator like this one, https://toolstud.io/music/bpm.php?bpm=90&bpm_unit=4%2F4&measures=999 to calculate the tempo that will get you to the length of time you want. I put in 999 measures at a tempo of 90 bpm in 4/4 time

(which comes out to be 44 minutes in length). The total time length is down the bottom of the page.
