I.M. Groot
How do you ensure that the playhead is always visible? Sometimes it goes off the screen and vanishes while I'm playing back my project. I tried clicking the "Catch Playhead" button, but it switches back off when the cursor goes off the screen. David Nahmani
I tried clicking the "Catch Playhead" button, but it switches back off when the cursor goes off the screen. Catch playhead is exactly the feature you're looking for: it ensures that the playhead stays always visible. So when it reaches the right edge of your Tracks area, the workspace pages right and you can see the playhead on the left. If Catch mode disables itself it's because you're doing something else such as scrolling or zooming?

David Nahmani
How do I know if I'm scrolling or zooming? You're touching your mouse or keyboard. Just don't do anything at all and see if the catch mode turns itself off?
I.M. Groot
I'm not touching anything. When the cursor reaches the end of the screen, it doesn't reappear on the left side. I click on Catch Mode before I press Play; I click on Catch Mode during playback...no matter what, it keeps disappearing.
Solution I.M. Groot Posted November 21, 2017 Author Solution Share Posted November 21, 2017 For what it's worth: the problem seems to have solved itself...though I'm not exactly sure how. It fixed itself when I deleted the music track from my project, and then imported a more updated music track. After that, the Catch Playhead feature worked normally again. Maybe it was something about that track, I don't know...anyway, thanks for your help David.
David Nahmani
That's weird! But happy to hear you're experiencing normal behavior again.
jensjefsen
I read the tread about missing playhead. I had same issue today. Shut down Logic Pro x, reopened my current file and boom the playhead was there. Jens Jefsen
