Naffa
Hi there, First of all, I'd like to apologise for joining the community and my first post being a request for help. It isn't usually how I get down, but I have a project due in a few weeks, and am at a complete loss. So, thank you for any help offered. I have been working on my current projects, consisting mainly of virtual instruments, with no problems for weeks. I finished my session last night, saved everything, no problems. Today, I open Logic to continue working, and after one second of playing anywhere in the project, I get the classic system overload message. It doesn't matter if the playhead is over an empty part of the project, if I turn off all my VSTs, all my effects, everything, I get that message. I thought it might be a problem with the specific project, so I started a new one. It was working fine. Yet, when I saved it, closed Logic, and opened it again, I get the same thing. I have, of course, gone through the usual fixes to a system overload issue (buffer size, etc). However, the it's happening even when the CPU usage is almost zero, so not everything is as it seems. The project due soon and I can't playback anything, so any help or advice that's offered is very much appreciated. Thank you! David Nahmani
Can you monitor the CPU and HD meters in the LCD display in the Custom control bar? Also, does the issue subside after you play through the project at least once?
Naffa
Hi David, thank you for your swift reply. The CPU and HD meters are both reading almost zero when it overloads. As for playing the project through, it just overloads any time I press play, and won't go for more than a second. Thanks again.
Atlas007
Besides PRAM reset, have you tried this troubleshooting rundown?
maceasy
If this only happens after the first save, then there is surely a clue there. Either the location you are saving to is corrupt, or there is a permissions issue with it, so that Logic can't read back from the project in that location. So i would try saving to a different place or disk and see what happens. Something is up with its ability to read off the disk your project is on, i would guess. Atlas007
Besides, did you try, using a different project template?
