chizz
Greetings...! First time noob poster here. I found this cool little "capture recording" feature that records in the background for those magical moments of randomness. However, my current settings only provide one note inside one bar. Anybody know if there a bug with this, or is it a preference/setting somewhere? OSX 10.10.5 Logic 10.2.4 Thanks much! Chizz.
paulcristo
I'm not sure, but I remember that feature having some issues in the 10.2.x era. If you can, you might consider getting to Logic 10.3.2 to see if that solves the problem.
chizz
Hey hey... thanks for the reply. I would love to update - but 2009 MacPro won't go to 10.11 Sierra Looks like I'm stuck with 10.2 for awhile.
Eric Cardenas
It can run Sierra without any problems. You will have to change its firmware to 5.1: Mac Pro Firmware Upgrade Utility Released!
paulcristo
10.11 is El Capitan, not Sierra. I'm on your same machine and both 10.11.6 and Logic 10.3.2 run great!

Thanks, Eric. Do you know if Sierra will seriously slow down a MacPro 2009? The upgrade is tempting.
Eric Cardenas
I really don't know how 10.12 affects the cheese grater mac from 2009. It should work perfectly as long as you have a decent video card. I find Sierra much more polished than El Cap on my systems. Try it out and see what you think. Just make sure to back up first. Jangus
@ chizz, Something for you to try .. After you trigger the ‘capture recording’ button, press the space bar first, and then start playing. Press the space bar when you are done, and your magical moments should be recorded. It seems to work better that way here. EDIT; correction, I tried it again and it sort-of works that way but yes, it has become very flakey.
chizz
Thanks guys... good stuff. Will have to file the firmware option for now - but that might save me until MacPro 2018 arrives Jangus...I find it is a bit flakey as well,... seems to depend on how long she's been running and the day of the week... Cheers - thank you.

I’d give El Capitan a go before trying the firmware option.
