Hi There,

I might be using the wrong search terms as can't find info on this - sorry if this is easy.

I have a DSI Tempest and when I was using an MPC, I was able to record MIDI from the Tempest. How do I record MIDI from the Tempest in Logic?

Here's where I'm at so far...

  • The Tempest shows up in Audio MIDI setup
  • The Tempest is sending MIDI when I test the setup, hit pads
  • The Tempest Sequencer out is set to MIDI channel 1
  • I have a Logic track which uses the External Instrument plugin
  • I can sync/slave the Tempest and record audio in Logic no problems

But the Tempest doesn't show up in controller preferences and I can't seem to record MIDI from it, what am I missing?

Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ben

Sorry, forgot that you can only output one pad/sound at a time from the Tempest and hadn't assigned the correct pad to output data from. For anyone else (and me incase I forget) in addition to the setup above, on the Tempest make sure to...

1. Assign a sequencer out channel under:

System > MIDI Polyphonic Keyboard play > Sequencer Out Channel

2. Assign a pad/sound to output under:

System > MIDI Polyphonic Keyboard play > Sequencer Sound

Cheers
