cybran
Hi, I've managed to get VMPK virtual MIDI piano working with logic pro x (by using the qwerty keyboard to play notes using virtual instruments). The only problem I'm facing is that I need to switch the focus to VMPK every time I wish to use it. Is there a way to have VMPK running in the background with my focus within logic pro x playing back the notes? (so that I can assign unused keys to record/pause/play etc. and work from one view without having to switch back and forth between views?) Here is what things look like in my environment view: I'm guessing I have to make the required changes in there. Thanks
JakobP
Why don't you use the "Musical Typing" instead ? Go Logic Por X > Window > Show Musical Typing
cybran
Because it has less keys. I guess there is no way to do what I'm looking for. Thanks
David Nahmani
I guess there is no way to do what I'm looking for. It's really a question about VMPK, not about Logic: can VMPK be active when not in focus? If not, is there a 3rd party utility out there that can trick an app into thinking it's in focus even when it isn't? On Logic's side, if Logic doesn't receive any MIDI data (because VMPK doesn't send any when it's not in focus), there's nothing you can do.
