lordbergfelix
Hey, I was wondering if there is any stock plugin besides "gain" in Logic X that I can be able to automate the mono signal from 0% to 100% Stereo. I want a fully dry mix (mono) before the drop then in the build up I want to open up the stereo image with automation (get more impact in a mix), you get the picture? Sincerely, Felix
Solution Ploki Posted January 17, 2018 Solution Share Posted January 17, 2018 If you want to do it on the whole mix, its much better to do it on the stereo bounce than on the mix itself (less parameters to automate), else route everything you have to a common aux then automate Stereo pan on the said Aux. (or if you're a masochist you can do it on each track separately) You have to right click the pan knob and select "stereo pan" (instead of default Balance), and with stereopan you can control the "width" of the stereo image. you can also use "Direction mixer" but its essentially identical. sg335man
Hello I used the same method Aux and automated the “Wide Pan” on the mix, works great! However the overall Vol level goes up when you hit full Mono? I guess because of all the stereo processing. So you have to compansate for that? sg335man
In fact it’s the “Pan Law” that comes into play Mono to Stereo
lordbergfelix
DirMix plugin does the job perfectly as it allows me to trigger the whole mix (Master Chain) and not just an individual channel. Thanks!
