fiji100
I am trying to make MIDI files in Logic. When I select "Export selection as MIDI file", the resulting MIDI file is blank (500 bytes) and silent when I open it. Where have I gone wrong? Here's how I'm doing it if it helps: -Using Logic Pro 9 -Using multiple tracks with "DLSMusicDevice" so I can hear the computer's default MIDI soundfont -I have set program changes (as well as panning, reverb and other control changes) within the regions -I select everything and choose "Export selection as MIDI file" -Result: blank midi file! Thanks
volovicg
Where and how have you set the program changes...? only in the inspector ? make sure the check box to the left of the PC is selected and choose functions-> Insert instrument Midi Settings as events prior to exporting? make sure you have the midi region you want to export highlighted ( selected ) and cycle is turned off. See if that addresses the issue....
Solution fiji100 Posted January 20, 2018 Author Solution Share Posted January 20, 2018 Ok I found out all the things I need to do to export a MIDI file, they are in the manual: http://documentation.apple.com/en/logicpro/usermanual/index.html#chapter=32%26section=4%26tasks=true
