Audio File Editor Default ??

When splitting the Main Window to access the Audio File Editor, is there a Global way to make it default to "File" rather than "Track" or is this just a "save per project" setting?

Current workaround is a key command to open the Audio File Edit window.

I'm not sure how that's a workaround? You just answered your own question, use the key command to open the Audio File editor (W is the default, think W for Waveform).

Or are you used to clicking the scissors button in the Control bar? How do you normally access the Audio File editor?

Crazy - after 20 years, it never occured to me to just use the other key command. I've been double clicking the audio region. Old dog... new tricks. Thanks !
