drakepeterdrake
In the screenshot attached, I played a shaker part, then applied groove quantizing to it. I'd like to freeze the resulting part so that i can cut and paste it elsewhere, without having the groove track function engaged. When i tried bouncing in place, it didn't sound the same. How do I freeze the quantized part? Thanks. P
David Nahmani
Freezing won't allow you to copy paste. BIP should do what you need. What does not sound the same, exactly?
keithsmith
MIDI>Region Parameters>Normalize Region Parameters is probably what you want ?
drakepeterdrake
David, the quantization didn't sound the same. Keith, thanks, that did it.
keithsmith
I thought that's what you meant - freezing is a different process, as you probably know.
drakepeterdrake
Yes, I was using the wrong terms. I just want to "mix to disk" as it was called in SVP, in that whatever changes I made would be permanently written.
David Nahmani
David, the quantization didn't sound the same. Keith, thanks, that did it. That's odd, it shouldn't change anything.
drakepeterdrake
David, bear in mind that all these songs I'm mixing are imported from Studio Vision Pro. There may be bugs that are imported as well. In this song, I have had a hard time with not being able to put plugins into summing stacks; they show up, with the blue "on" button lit, but they are greyed-out and cannot be manipulated. The weirdness with the quantization may also be part of that. I commonly have problems with inputs and outputs not being consistent, although those are assigned after the import, so it may be a bug in my own LPX templates, etc. Sometimes starting a new LPX session and importing everything will help with the bugs, and sometimes it won't. keithsmith
Mmmm.. I found that odd too.
drakepeterdrake
Having used SVP since 1994, and worked with people on PT, LPX, DP, FL, etc., I've learned that computers and software will just sometimes do odd things, unrelated to user-error.
