TimeForMusic
Logic used to do this... is there anyway to bring this setting back?
jonparadise
If you save an aupreset it will rename the track when the preset is loaded.

TimeForMusic
It's a setting.Project Settings > Audio Channel Strips > Automatic naming of channel strip objects. Thanks. I realized I needed to be a little more clear about my set up. Yes, this works for tracks without anything custom in the name field (i.e, they are just "Inst X"). However, my template works off of preexisting tracks with custom names (such as [new strings]) that I duplicate to create a new instance. I load in my VST preset, but the pre-duplicated track name still remains. Is there a way to have it reset, or at least clear the name when the track is duplicated (perhaps with a macro)?
