RandyMc2
Hello All Has anyone here used the presonus quantum interface with logic pro x?
xchrisxtopher
Hey RandyMc2, I own the PreSonus Quantum and use it as my main interface with LPX. Absolutely love it! PreSonus knocked it out of the park with this one: - Fantastic I/O options (includes 2 Thunderbolt ports for daisy-chaining devices, such as another Quantum or external monitor) - No mix software to muck things up. Just use Software monitoring and be done with it - Digital preamps for easy dialing in and instant recallability - Built-in talkback mic is brilliant, and spares one of the precious mic inputs for more important tasks Curiously, I find the Quantum works almost better with LPX than Studio One? Maybe it's because Logic has less options for Audio Preferences and Low Latency. Aka: more straight-forward. In a nutshell – I heartily recommend it! StashMusic
Totally agree. love the interface. How do you do talk? Just set an track to have the input set to Talkback and leave one "I"?
xchrisxtopher
Hi StashMusic! The very last set of inputs - Inputs 27-28 - are for the Talkback Mic. As you mentioned you would create a New Track with the Input set to 27-28 and enable the Input Monitoring button for that Track.
StashMusic
Cheers. Thats how i did it. Created a channel that has input monitoring on with inputs 27-28 and sent straight to Headphones 1 channel.
StashMusic
To answer OPs question. I am loving my Quantum and for similar reasons to xchrisxtopher. Great I/O Great latency Controls on Front panel are great. I also use an iPad as a second monitor and leave the software/RTA meters running. eedubya
Hi StashMusic, that last pic looks appealing, but I just purchased a Quantum 2626 on 10/19/2022 and when I open the UniversalControl app I don't see ANY controls! It's the latest everything as I have just for the first time installed and opened. I'm a Logic Pro X user and I had to finally upgrade from my old Firewire 400 interface. I wonder if you or xchrisxtopher have any thoughts?
StashMusic
Sorry for the delay, i just logged back in here and saw. I am not sure why there are no controls. How have you gone?
eedubya
I found out the 2626 doesn't have as many ins/outs and controls as the Quantum does. Hence a different interface.
