PP1965
I have just realised that it would be possible to import pictures into a track or project notepad. Just right click in the notepad window and select Import Image from the popup menu. Unfortunately the appearing window is empty, although I have a scanner and a built-in camera (iMac Pro) as well. (Select a camera or a scanner). Does this feature work for you?
David Nahmani
I just drag and drop images in the note pad.
PP1965
Thanks David, yes that works, but what happens in your system if you select the Import Image menu item? Do you get an empty device selector window or you can use your devices from Logic Pro X?

Antaren
What kind of images do people find helpful to have in the note pad?
PP1965
It can be really useful if you use an external effect device on your track, for instance a Strymon DIG, which can’t save its state.
David Nahmani
band set up, mic positions, gear settings, photos of lyrics ...

Eriksimon
Doesn't seem to work here, tried dragging a jpg, it twoinked back into its Finder window. Do I need a different pic format? PNG, TIFF? Edit: never mind, I needed to "open" the note pad first by clicking its "edit" button.
SergeMeister
I use this feature to capture UAD plugin settings. UAD preset file housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired, most importantly after a reboot the Console apps preset browser doesn’t display the name of the preset in use for running plugins. UAD acknowledges this as a shortcoming but low priority, along with their update installer locking all user presets. Plenty of practice required hacking permission settings in your user libs... redgreenblue
Also good for analog synths without patch memory
jedijj98
Do you know if it's possible to make columns within the NotePad? I keep all my chords and lyrics there but it gets lengthy and I would like to be able to see everything and edit rather than bouncing and importing a picture of a word file or pdf that I can put into columns. I would think that would be the #1 thing people use the Notepad for band set up, mic positions, gear settings, photos of lyrics ...
David Nahmani
Not really but you can use the Tab key to line things up vertically.
