Why is this crashing?

Mon Jun 17, 2019 1:21 pm

I am working on a lullaby for my sons and am after I moved a MIDI segment on one instrument over to another area and then clicked the MIDI section to move the notes around a little bit, the program crashed.

Now, it keeps crashing. Here's the report:

Looks like a null pointer, so likely something happened during the move, but I couldn't tell you why. Generally when I experience stuff like this, I'll export the stems and start over. That's not Logic specific, just a general rules for corrupted files. Sorry edited this upon thinking.

I had a similar thing happen in Reaper. I had to scrap part and work on and start over. I think I got it now. I am going to rework it and make it a little easier. I'm still learning how to use this DAW.

Hi, I have the same problem, crash on start up, I made a new user account and then Logic 10.4.5 start. How can I go on with my own account?

Go to your user Library. This library is hidden. In the Finder, drop down the "Go" menu

while holding the option key, then choose Library (the only one without a key shortcut). Now go to the Preferences folder and delete all these:

then open Logic again, see if it works now.
This will reset all your preferences to defaults, so you may have to set those back.
