johnespinoza34
Noob here! How does one get multiple takes to overlap over each other and play simultaneously rather than cut off? Please refer to the screenshot for clearer idea.
robinloops
Inside a take folder you can’t overlap comps. You can unpack the folder to individual tracks and use overlaps there. If you export active comp it will preserve your edits and those can be used as a starting point.
johnespinoza34
So I have to make individual tracks for each? Is there a way to merge the tracks into one to avoid creating a confusing mess? Thanks again!
johnespinoza34
Also could you please explain how you go about unpacking a folder into individual tracks? Thanks so much!

robinloops
Here’s how I would go about it. Use the ‘export active comp to a new track’ option. This will take the current comp and copy it to a new track but with regions for each edit in the comp. Then I would make a duplicate of that track and move every other region to the copy. Now you can adjust the beginning and ending of each region and overlap them as you like. Expand the ‘save the current comp’ in the article below for a screen shot of the menu (where the options are for exporting/flattening/etc. are). https://help.apple.com/logicpro/mac/10.4/index.html#/lgcpb193382e

triplets
Can you take another screenshot but with the Take folder open?
Pablo Caputto
Sure! What do you think?
David Nahmani
That's odd, you should see all three pieces of the comp on the new track. Can you make a copy of the take folder somewhere else on the track (at the end of the song) to test it again there?
Pablo Caputto
Same :/
Pablo Caputto
I created a new project and now it works good.. it seems to be something on this project... do you have any suggestion of what can be?
David Nahmani
I'm not sure you could try to duplicate the track and its content (Option-drag the track icon down to create a copy) to see if that behaves ?
Pablo Caputto
Yes, that works! But i would like to fix the export
triplets
Yes, that works! But i would like to fix the export Does it happen on every project or just this one?
Pablo Caputto
It seems to be only in this one!
triplets
It seems to be only in this one! Then it's just project corruption, which can happen from time to time.
cinningbao
I've had similar problems and the fix for me was to unpack and repack the take folder. Of course, you lose the comps.. but you've only got a couple. Maybe try that?
Pablo Caputto
I will do it! thank you very much!
