Gareth Williams79
Hi, I am trying to work out how to slow down a part of a song (at the end) at an even smooth rate. Ok, so for example, you’ve got a riff or part of a song at 130 BPM and then at a certain point it starts slowing down. You know the part slowing down is 8 beats, you know what it started slowing down from is 130 BPM and you can calculate the average BPM of the bit that is slowing down. Lets say its 90 BPM, average. Ok, because it’s at the end of the song you want the slow down to be even from 130 to 0 across the 8 beats of the section. I think! I’m not sure what to do in Logic to get an even slowdown of tempo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Gareth
David Nahmani
Hi Gareth, I would suggest the following method to create your tempo curve: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=144260#p749221
Gareth Williams79
Thanks David. I think I’ve got that. It will be a few weeks before I try it out as I’m working out tempo calculations next week. I’ve assumed that, say it’s going from 97 to 118 (as in your example) if you drag the blue point all the way to the 97 point you will get a straight line and the change will be evenly gradual? That’s what I have assumed anyway.
David Nahmani
What you assume is correct!
