playback head goes to beginning of timeline when I hit record

Hi all

 

Newbie with Logic Pro X here. I must have fat fingered something, but can't seem to figure out what. I've been recording multiple tracks in a project, when now suddenly when I hit record and the playhead is at say bar 25, it simply goes to the beginning of the timeline and sits there, doesn't even record. Doesn't matter where I put the playhead on the timeline, keeps happening. Tried creating new tracks, same thing happens. As far as I can see I don't have the cycle button on or anything like that. I opened up a new project as a recording test, and it doesn't happen, seems to work okay.

Click and Hold on the Play button in Transport.

Then check or Un-check Play from Last Locate Position, see if this solves it.

thanks for the reply. I checked and unchecked Last Locate, as well as the others (play from cycle, etc) for a handshake...same thing happening.

I remember this happening to friend of mine, but I cant remember how he solved it!

 

Try going to Logic, Preferences, General, Catch, then make sure these are checked as in this pic.

 

Worth a try

Click and Hold on the Play button in Transport.

Then check or Un-check Play from Last Locate Position, see if this solves it.

Try the record button instead...

hmm...tried all the suggestions. tried renaming and resaving the project incase that might give it a handshake, no luck. In the end, luckily, I only had one part left, so recorded it in a new project, then just copied it and placed it in. thanks for the input
