cjonesy42
I am having a problem with Logic Pro garbling the timing of MIDI notes during recording or playback when working on an external USB synth. The piano roll of the MIDI events looks fine (and previously worked normally), but now is playing only one or two random notes from the segment on playback. Moreover, when I attempt to record new material, Logic is garbling the timing putting 4-5 notes on the same beat and then another random chord several measures later. Is there some setting that could be causing this behavior. Real-time playing of the keyboard without recording works fine, so it does not appear to be a cable issue. Thanks. Atlas007
What you describe looks like quantization being set too low. For instance, if you record at 1/16 quantization resolution, then change that quantization to 1/4, the notes will be time shifted to the nearest beat. Thus what was originally recorded as arpeggio will then be played back as chords...
