lordbergfelix
Hi every1, Since Logic Pro is Mac only I assume all logic users here are familiar w/ Macs, and I thought this was a good place to ask for help! I've got a MacBook Air 13" Early 2014, I couldn't turn it on with or w/o charger, no matter what, BUT I'm getting the apple chime and the backlight keyboard is turning on after I press the power button tho' nothing is showing up on the screen. I thought this was a battery issue so I just ordered a new battery similar to the original one, and after replacement I'm getting the exact same problem. Any help would be much appreciated! Regards, Felix

lordbergfelix
hey thanks for the help, I plugged the device into an external display, and it works as usual except its screen. I'll try to perform an internet recovery HD, will keep you updated.
skijumptoes
Hopefully it's just a ribbon cable that attention (Re-inserting) - if you don't see any display on startup then an OS recovery won't help as the boot screen comes before the OS. Hold up the display to the light, it's possible that the screen is displaying but the backlight has failed - if you can get a bright light and view it on the angle with the mac turned on, you'll soon notice if anythings displaying. If you see a diplay of some sort with a light/torch on there then it's the display backlight circuit which has gone, and this is either the power convertor, or there is a small fuse there too. Have you had any spillages on your mac before this occured? Apple will charge you a fortune for this and just replace logic board and/or display without care to look further into the issue, so hopefully you have a local repair shop that will be more reasonable and can fix for you. Ribbon cable you can check yourself, if you've already been in there to change battery over.
