OFS
Hello everyone, I need to post a video in the forum to describe a problem. Can anyone advise me on the best way to do this? Thanks!
Ploki
youtube unlisted video, then paste the link, maybe?
fuzzfilth
Unless you want to wave into the camera, you can use LICEcap to grab an animated GIF from screen which you can paste as a picture but will play what you recorded.
Eriksimon
Yep, LICEcap. No sound though.
David Nahmani
Yes, LICEcap along with a text description is best. It helps keep things short and efficient, and the text description ensures the topic is searchable and search engines can read and index it. Attaching the resulting .gif right here guarantees that the screen capture will forever stay with the topic and not become a dreaded broken link rendering the thread useless for future visitors: How to attach files to your post
OFS
Ok guys, thanks. I think I’ll try the YouTube option because I really need the sound to get my question across.
David Nahmani
I'm generally against asking questions with a YouTube video for the aforementioned reasons (too long to watch, ends being a broken link after a while), but if you have a really good reason to do it, so be it. But then please at least do describe your question in full text, and keep the video as short as possible, and don't remove it from YouTube after your question was answered. Thanks! To embed your YouTube video here, use our youtube bbcode with the video number in between, like this: f[/b]6sBPHb1Vl4
OFS
Ok David, I will do it as you described. It’s about 30 seconds, 6 megs on my hard drive, not too big. Thanks!
