thesecession
Getting a very annoying 1-2 seconds of lag when copy pasting midi regions as well as midi notes within regions. Anyone else getting this?
lorenzogc
It might be because your processor can't handle it, what specs do you have?
thesecession
It might be because your processor can't handle it, what specs do you have? 2020 mac pro 16 core. It only happens in logic 10.5, the same sessions are flawless on 10.

istation
Yes, an ultrawide LG. I should mention that I was able to open a fresh project and move midi notes without any lag. So, it's intermittent and apparently project-specific. Thanks!
David Nahmani
It could be due to a bloated undo history. Choose Edit > Undo History to check the size of the history and try deleting it. You could also check the amount of regions in the workspace, of markers, of events in general... all of those can bloat a Logic project and make it slow to react to edits. Just tried a quick test with a project that has 50,000 markers, each edit takes several seconds to perform. It's unusual to have that many regions or markers but it could happen, sometimes by mistake.
catsongs
Aloha from Honolulu, Has anyone solved this problem? Having same issue on a new Mac Pro. Plenty of processing power, yet copying-and-pasting midi in the piano is a slow, delay-filled process. Maddening. Mahalo! Cat

Haven't found a solution door it do far. I found myself (and hopefully for others) a solution. I have set up my trackpad in such a way that I can drag with 3 fingers (without having to 'push-click' the trackpad). When I drag a midi region with 1 finger by really push-clicking the trackpad there is no lag. The lag is only there when the trackpad is 'not clicked'. Edit: This did work for 1 project. Now it is lagging again
