Change the volume level in finer increments.

Over here it works; but only when using the Alt/Cmd modifier with the V-Pot on my C4.

Also, that is only visible from within the automation lane. One could see the line/dot slowly moving up, although the displayed digit resolution remains in tenth of dB, updating to the next one when the line/dot reaches its tenth dB level.

Honestly, I don't recall if it had actually ever been implemented with the mouse dragging action...

does that work for anyone? i thought there was nothing between, say, -0.2 & -0.3...

but i could be wrong (i was wrong once before, in 1987, on a tuesday)...

And today

has that been confirmed? doesn't work for me, and atlas says "don't recall if it had actually ever been implemented with the mouse dragging action..."

And today

has that been confirmed?

I just did that it was presently implemented the way I described in my first reply.

doesn't work for me, and atlas says "don't recall if it had actually ever been implemented with the mouse dragging action..."
but was implemented using with the MIDI controller for the volume resolution finer than tenth of dB. Which was your (today's wrong) assumption:

original post: "That doesn't seems to be working either with my MBP with the track pad and my iMac with an USB mouse." and your own reply: "don't recall if it had actually ever been implemented with the mouse dragging action"

which is what i thought we were discussing. but you seem to want to argue with me today, so, here too, will withdraw. i can do better things with my time

In the LPX documentation it is written « Press and hold Shift while dragging the Volume fader to change the volume level in finer increments. »

...

Could you provide a link to that documentation?

Please open the section Set channel strip volume in Logic Pro.

Thanx!

That is indeed clearly stated that the mouse dragging should do that... and the documentation is up to date (specified for LPX v.10.5).

Well, another bug I guess to add to the pile.

Did you report it to the feedback website?

Ok thanks for checking Sir! I will report it.

I tried this in Cubase 10 (Shift+drag a fader) and it works very well. It's a very handy feature!

You're not wrong fisherking. I just discover this: With LP9, if I hold down CTRL+OPTION+COMMAND an then move a fader, with the mouse, it moves, very, very slowly. But the increments are the same, in tenth, as usual. And in Cubase 10 you can achieve this holding SHIFT and moving the fader. In LPX it changed nothing. The movement is the same. The end result is that it makes it easier to move the fader from say -10.9 to -11 or -10.8.

I think that what Apple means is that the fader itself moves in thinner increments, not the dBFS. Now they have to make it working using the modifiers they want to use. Feedback submitted.

that does seem to be the case; i don't see much difference, between moving the mouse slowly, and moving the mouse with the shift key held; maybe a little more precise (in single steps). but nothing between each step (ie -0.2, -0.3 etc).

so, maybe i'm right and wrong... 8-)

No you and I are right :-)

In LP9 CTRL+OPTION+COMMAND moves the fader slowly. More mouse travel needed.

In Cubase 10, SHIFT moves the fader slowly. More mouse travel needed.

In LPX, any modifier combinations makes no difference. The fader moves the same way.

In all cases, «  nothing between each step (ie -0.2, -0.3 etc) ».
