kubaorlowski
I know it sounds weird, but please let me explain. When I put a midi instrument on a channel strip and connect that channel strip to a monitor in environment I get fader events coming out .Can I use that midi data to control a plugin on a different channel ? If I simply make a connection in environment it doesn’t work. I’m trying to find a way to use softube console 1 as a universal controller. Dewdman42
you probably get fader events coming from the mixer channel itself not from any plugin that might be hosted within it. Midi events generated from plugins inside a channel strip are not sent out to the environment.
kubaorlowski
Well, I’m moving a cutoff of a synth that’s inserted in the software instrument slot. And that generates a fader data. I don’t care what’s under the hood. What I’m curious about is : can I use this data to control a parameter of a plugin on a different track? Dewdman42
Ps - fader data are generally the automatable parameters, not midi. So if a control in your plugin is automatable, then it can send and receive fader messages in the enviornment which you can transform to anything you want and send to another mixer channel, so I think yes it’s possible if you are using fader automation from one plugin to control a plugin on another channel.
