Fade Tool Drags Clip?

My secondary tool is the Fade tool.

When I press command, the cursor changes to the Fade too.

However, when I command + click and drag on the clip, a fade is not created.

Instead the clip is dragged.

How can I create a fade out for my clip?

Thanks.

I tried deleting the alternate takes and it deleted the last take. I tried to delete the alternate takes because I guessed that the blue border surrounding all takes was interfering with the fade tool.

When I hit undo, the clip came back empty, no sample. I quit and relaunched and the entire track is gone. Now, I have to rerecord.

Still don't know how to do fade.

I keep having to restart logic because it puts green stuff over my track and won't let me undo the take to prior take. But then when I bring back the project, often, sound clips are missing :-(

Why?
