Roland Fantom 7 Drum separation

Hello,

Is there another process for separating drums from a Roland Fantom 7 into Logic?

I've been doing this successfully using drum plugins like EZ Drummer, but having difficulties now with the new Fantom 7.

Here are the two methods I use that work easily with drum plugins:

1. Make multi-track and record. (Can't do multi-track with External Instrument/Fantom 7)

2. Rght-click on the drum region. This will open the contextual menu. Scroll down to “MIDI” and select the “separate by note pitch” command from the MIDI sub menu.

3. Click on the duplicate track button after selecting the drum track. With each click you create a new track with a new channel strip that has the same settings than the parent track.

4. Move each region to it’s corresponding track, name the track and delete the original track.

And:

Record MIDI

Separate MIDI by Note

Create Audio track with same audio routing as Fantom

Solo a MIDI track

Arm audio track, Record

This makes audio track of MIDI data.

Issue is that only some separation occurs.

Result I need is to have each Roland Fantom 7 drum sounds isolated in separate tracks.

Attached is the External used.

Thanks for any help!
