itsmega
Hello! I am brand new to Logic and am just about to loose my mind trying to set up MIDI to a software instrument. I have a Nord stage, and it's set up with MIDI cables through my audio interface (Focusrite 4i4). When I go to add a new software track, I have tried literally all of the settings. And I've tried going into the instrument utility and trying all of the channels; I'm not sure which channel the MIDI is??? but it's not channels 1-2 because those are the instruments I've plugged in on the front. When I go to channels 5-6 there is loud feedback. So channels 3-4 is the only option. I've also told it to take midi from "ALL CHANNELS". Whatever I've tried, no MIDI is triggering a software instrument when I record in Logic. Praying that forums work? thank you so much. David Nahmani
You shouldn't have to mess with the MIDI channels at all. Try to select Logic Pro X > Control Surfaces > Bypass All Control Surfaces. Does the Nord Stage now behave with a software instrument track? PsalmistKing
Hey! Not sure if OP ever got their issue resolved, but that solution didn't work for me! I have the Nord Stage 3 set up via USB as a midi controller (not via 5 pin, like OP) and I can't get any response from the midi instruments in logic. Help! David Nahmani
In Logic's control bar, in the LCD display, click the little arrow symbol to the right and choose Custom. Where it says "MIDI In" is a MIDI input monitor. Press a key on your keyboard. Do you see something in the MIDI input monitor?
