django
I'm wondering if there's a script that does this already. Or if this script is possible in scripter Something like the vermona random rhythm generator. There's a Maxforlive plug on Ableton doing the same called Rhythmizer. Play with the probability of 8th, 16th and 32nd notes.
Atlas007
I would believe so, since there is a random function in scripter codes.
David Nahmani
Scripter is a real time MIDI processor so I don't believe it can help in that way? On the other hand have you considered using the "Chance" parameter in the Step Sequencer?
des99
I think there is a generative drum sequencer preset script in the MIDI Scripter, I vaguely recall looking at it a while back...

You're completely right, I spoke too quickly, there is a Sequencer preset for Scripter: This PST creates a user customizable MIDI sequencer that can sequence either MIDI notes, or MIDI Control Change messages (or both!). For more information on how to customize the sequencer, scroll to the end of the Script, and read the comments that begin after the "Global Variables" box (line 4276)
Dewdman42
Scripter can definitely do what is being asked but most likely it would be very advanced and complicated programming. There is something Brian eno did with scripter along these lines that has floated around the web, google for it

django
I've messaged softube requesting a CV to midi module for Modular. I've tried every way my little brain can to get a random rhythm happening
Dewdman42
check this out: https://surge-synth-team.org/stochas/ There is also Numerology....
django
I had a run with Stochas once before, I couldn't get it to switch different trigger times, will check the manual and see. I'll check out numerology again too, thanks dewd VCV has a CV to midi module so that could be another method *assumption*
django
Ok I hadn't seen Numerology, they say it can modulate rate. The want for a random binary to modulate that modulation etc etc, may lead it all back to VCV anyway... The capabilities of Software and Modular these days with all of the new semi-modular synths etc, should be a huge push on Apple for more development toward CV control to and fro Logic.
