Woodland Hills
I print back into Logic. When I'm done with that, I like to Export my final mixes to a folder on the desktop. When I Export the files, it automatically goes to the Bounce folder for that session. Is there a way to tell Logic to send Exported files to a folder on the desktop instead of my having to go locate it? Thanks!
Atlas007
I doubt... Perhaps with some hack...
fuzzfilth
The Bounce dialog *creates* the Bounce folder unless it exists already, and then takes you there. So that seems pretty hardwired. What you can do is hit command-D once you're in there which will take you right to the desktop.
ozinga
Hi Instead of exporting you could hold and drag the files to desktop or anywhere. Would that work?
Woodland Hills
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try those tomorrow in the studio.
facej
Hmmm. Export opens up a standard Finder dialog on my machine...If you don't want to click on "Desktop" which may, or may not, be on the sidebar you could simply press command-D which is Finder-speak for Desktop... Woodland Hills
I keep all my sessions / projects on an external drive, so when I Export, it wants to export the files to the Bounce folder of that particular project. Once the Export window is opened, I can Command - D, and it'll take me to the Desktop. I can then choose the folder I want to export to. I do have Desktop on the Finder sidebar, but I prefer using Command - D. I was hoping I didn't have to go through ll those steps when exporting and that Logic would know to export to a particular folder on the desktop. Thanks! brandeneatsfood
Just move everything from the "Bounces" folder into the folder you want it in.
Woodland Hills
Just move everything from the "Bounces" folder into the folder you want it in. The idea is to export from Logic into a folder on the Desktop.
facej
shift-command-E command-D click "New Folder" button - type name done - how is this hard?
Woodland Hills
I never said it was hard. As a Pro Tools user for many years, I was familiar with their export. Logic is different and that's ok.
fuzzfilth
You keep referring to exporting when dealing with mixes. Are you really exporting or are you bouncing ? If you're in fact exporting, it remembers the last file path so once you locate that folder on the desktop it will be set for all following export commands. However, exporting instead of bouncing requires you to first record your mix to a track, which in turn excludes you from offline bouncing in a fraction of the time. Woodland Hills
I'm Exporting. When I finish my mixes and stems, I "Export as Audio Files". Problem is that it's not remembering the last file path.
