I would have expected a repeat slash would replace any rest of the same duration, but instead they just sit on top of the rests and look awful. Screenshot 2021-01-03 at 14.06.08.png You probably are using a polyphonic staff style. Open it and hide the rests in the voice that you want them hidden in.
