studioj
Hello, In Pro Tools there is a setting that lets you monitor only the sends when in record and audio coming into the record track is muted so that you can monitor it through a console app like UAD etc for near zero latency monitoring. Is there a similar setting or workflow in Logic? That doesn’t involve extra moves like turning down or muting the fader / setting send to pre fader etc... this mode is useful in PT because often reverbs when monitored through the system under a buffer setting still work fine as the latency just presents as some additional pre delay. It seems to monitor sends I need to turn on software monitoring and also put the record track in input mode, but wondering if I’m missing a different global setting like PT. Thanks for any feedback! David Nahmani
There's no direct equivalent in Logic. If your sends are pre-fader then you could use Logic's independent monitoring levels and turn the faders all the way down while in Record mode. Once out of Record mode the faders go back to their original position, and you have to mute your alternate monitoring routing.
studioj
ah thanks for the reminder about that feature. Would still be better to have an "always monitor sends while in software monitoring mode" or some sort of button per send or bus return to turn monitoring on regardless of mode, but this could do. Thanks!
