Claude Ruest
Hello again David. Hope you're having a great day man. As i think of writing this message i realize i should start looking at some tutorials so i dont ask basic stuff like this. Selection problem maybe? I want to cut a section from 38.3 to 50.3 and the auto loop selection "U" wont work on this cause it selects at the start of any bar or at the end of those. I created a couple markers in the right places but i cant find a way to cut this section. Maybe im not doing it the right way at all. Can you help plz? Ill be back in few hours ..lots of job. David Nahmani
No worries feel free to ask the most basic stuff. So I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean but if you want to cut a region (or multiple regions) you could select the section with the Marquee tool (default should be Command-drag) and then click it with the Pointer tool. Claude Ruest
I want to cut between the bar 38.3 and 50.3. A bar of 6/4 been created while i was recording...it asked me to create a new bar of 2/4 and i refuse so now i have a part starting in the middle of a bar and i need to cut from it 38.3 to 50.3. is that understandable? i am french so its not easy to translate well in music terms. David Nahmani
Do you want to just cut the material to leave empty space (silence)? Or do you want to remove it so that anything to the left of 50.3 snaps to 38.3?
Claude Ruest
I want to delete the section and whats in it. yes
David Nahmani
Then select the section with the yellow Cycle area, then select Edit > Cut/Insert Time > Cut Section Between Locators.
Claude Ruest
The yellow cycle area only select bars from its beginning or the end ..not from 38.3 but 38. If i put a marker at 38.3 and one at 50.3 then push U ..it selects from 38 to 51 I may soon try to create a 2/4 bar then ill be able to work better. Ill be back if needed thanks David. fuzzfilth
The Cycle area can be set to anything you want.

Solution David Nahmani Posted March 3, 2021 Solution Share Posted March 3, 2021 I am trying to figure out what i did a couple weeks ago ...i changed some selection settings somewhere.Ill come back with it. I cant select like you do. Check your Snap pop-up menu and make sure it's not set to Bar? Try zooming in horizontally? Or try to first create the Cycle area then adjust the position of one of its edges, draggin while holding Control if necessary?
