Do you hear white noise?

David Nahmani
Do you see activity on the meters of the track that is producing the noise? What audio interface are you using and what is connected to that input?
youngboodz
yeah I see some noise coming in , I'm using focus right scarlet 8i6 and only the mic is connected to it , the mic is akg p220
David Nahmani
Ok so if you turn the gain all the way down on the mic preamp does the noise go down and eventually disappear?
youngboodz
yes
David Nahmani
Ok so it sounds like you're just hearing the noise floor produced by your analog chain (mic, cable, preamp). Is that noise really unreasonable? Some amount of noise is normal but obviously it should be much lower than the actual signal you're picking up with the mic. Also do a test with the mic unplugged from the preamp? Make sure any settings are correct, like inst/line switch on the preamp, 48V phantom power if needed, pad or filter switches on the mic itself etc.
youngboodz
Yeah i did everything and still some white noises
David Nahmani
If you have too much noise even without a mic connected, then it's an issue with the audio interface. Contact the manufacturer and ask them for help.
