TrustingBliss
I have an Akai MPK Mini3 controller, it is an older model. Sound is not playing back from the keys when I try to play the sampler instrument in Logic Pro. I have a Moog Little Phatty and Yamaha P-45 and have tried plugging both in but still no sound from the keys. I also wanted to download the MPK mini software, but it is out of date for OS Catalina. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks.
David Nahmani
1. Can you play the sampler instrument using Window > Show Musical Typing? 2. Can you play an electric piano patch with your controllers?
TrustingBliss
The musical typing does not make any sound either. I am able to create a MIDI instrument track and play using the controllers.
David Nahmani
Which sampler instrument is it?
TrustingBliss
I'm doing a vocal chops track so I edited a vocal, selected and right clicked on "create sampler track"
TrustingBliss
I feel like it has to be a setting somewhere else in Logic that I don't know about yet.
TrustingBliss
I solved it by restarting everything and plugging back in. So it's solved! haha
David Nahmani
Alright! Good to hear.
TrustingBliss
Hi, I am curious because now the problem is occurring again, can you guess why would the problem disappear and reappear like that?
David Nahmani
So does the issue occur as soon as you create the sampler instrument? Or after you save the project and reopen it?
TrustingBliss
When starting a new project. I guess this time I was trying to use the moog to make a bass synth track
David Nahmani
When starting a new project and trying to use a sampler instrument you had already saved before? That's what I'm not clear about.
TrustingBliss
Yeah. I start a new midi or sampler instrument in either one and I can see the notes but I can’t hear it...which is the whole purpose hee hee haha
David Nahmani
Double-check the MIDI Start note pitch? Is it something like C-1 for example, which means C MINUS one, that's 2 octaves below C1.
